Toiletry Kits

When you stay at hotels, don't forget to collect those unused small bottles of shampoo or mouthwash, and soap bars. These can be donated to the on-going toiletries collection for Daybreak and Pathways. A basket for this collection resides in the vestibule. Any kind of toiletry or personal care item can be donated, such as disposable razors, shaving cream, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, and toothpaste/toothbrushes. This collection was initiated by a parishioner here at Mediator who currently checks the basket and delivers the donations.

Daybreak and Pathways are ministries of the Lehigh County Conference of Churches. Daybreak offers assistance to adults with mental illness, the homeless, persons with HIV/AIDS and the elderly. Some of the services provided are hot meals, referrals for housing, budgeting, medical and mental health treatment, educational activities, and emergency laundry and showering services. Pathways assists individuals in need of emergency assistance and refers them to community services that match their needs. The Pathways program encourages and enables persons with limited resources to work toward self-sufficiency and assists in enrollment in employment training and health and educational programs. In addition, the program also provides clothing, disposable diapers, toiletries and personal care items.
